Cheryl has over 20 years of experience training every client type and for every fitness goal including athlete conditioning, pregnancy, post-knee replacement, back surgery, cardiac rehabilitation and preparing for your special day, to name a few.

Rich Dupell

Trainer

Since I can remember I have been interested in movement. Moving indoors, moving outdoors, moving with a team…moving with purpose to accomplish my goals! For the past 7 years, I co-owned and operated a fitness facility in BUCKS COUNTY, PA.  Where I trained people from ages 3-77. Including my wife through 3 pregnancies. My love for clients and teaching has led back to doing just that here at Surfside Fitness. Moving with quality is most important to my experience and philosophy as a trainer. My goal is to help clients take the focus off of quantity, to help them celebrate small purposeful successes so they can learn more about their bodies true capabilities over time.

Roseann Williams

Trainer

My desire to bring the health and fitness message and to give back led me to pursue my personal training certification; as well as my yoga, Barre, mat pilates, and strength training certifications. 

My motto is “Never Give Up!”  I feel privileged to inspire and train clients at any level of fitness, walk of life, or physical limitations.  I have trained pre and post rehabilitative clients who have had cardiac, hip, knee, shoulder, and back issues.  My clients range in age from 15 to 90 years old.  I find that continuing education and continuous research/reading/learning is what keeps me at the top of my game, and is what I find keeps my clients from experiencing fitness plateaus or stagnation. 

Dana Taylor

Trainer

Dana has been involved in the fitness industry over the last 25 years.

Growing up an athlete, the workout was always important! A part-time career in fitness started with teaching step classes and weight classes and progressed from there!

More recently spin, weight classes and tabatahave been in her tool kit. When not teaching a class she enjoys taking spin, yoga, pilates or just plain old school lifting!

Ryan Tozer

Trainer

Ryan played high school basketball at Friends’ Central School and college basketball at Eastern University scoring over 1000 points at each. Ryan was an assistant at Holy Family University before spending 10 years as a head coach at Rosemont College and at Friends’ Central. As a high school coach he coached numerous players who went on to play at every level of college basketball. Ryan’s proud to have coached De’Andre Hunter who won an NCAA championship at the University of Virginia and was the 4th overall pick by the Atlanta Hawks in the 2019 NBA draft.

Heather Phillips

Trainer

Growing up as a dancer, Heather has performed professionally around the country, working in TV/Film in LA, contemporary companies in Utah, and live theater shows in NYC. She has now turned her passion for being active and healthy to the fitness world.  

Heather is a certified Personal Trainer,  Barre Instructor, and teaches various classes including Boot Camps, Circuit Training, H.I.I.T, and TRX. Her classes are upbeat, high-energy, total-body workouts that ensure safe, smart training.

Gary Murray

Karen Cleighton

Trainer

Karen has an impressive resume as a  professional dancer and choreographer as well as dance instructor for many years and parlayed that into a fun private party DJ career as well. If you take one of her classes you will see she IS  the life of the party! Her high energy spin classes to the beat of the music make you leave feeling like you were just at the club.  She has been teaching fitness classes of all kinds for 25 years or more.  If you have the opportunity to spend an hour with Karen, don’t miss it!

Jenny Dougherty

Trainer

Jenny is a junior at the University of Delaware, studying dietetics and exercise science. She received a personal training certification from AAAI/ISMA.  She has been training for over three years and loves sharing her fitness passion with others!

Sarah White

Trainer

Sarah was first team All-Academy and leading scorer on her Gwynedd Mercy Academy basketball team this season. She will continue her basketball career in college, attending Catholic University this fall.  Sarah has been training with her Aunt Cheryl, Surfside’s owner, since she began her athletic career at 5 years old!  What she couldn’t make happen due to size, she more than made up for with heart and hustle, as is evident by her work ethic in the gym. She has assisted with team and group workouts and ran basketball clinics, camps and private basketball workouts throughout high school for Surfside Fitness.
